Our $125,000 Fundraising Goal
At the Colorado Central Railroad and Mining Museum, our mission is to keep the rich history of Colorado’s railroads alive for future generations. We’re excited to announce a new fundraising initiative aimed at restoring and preserving some of the most important pieces of our collection. But we can’t do it without your help.
We’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $125,000, dedicated to five critical projects that will enhance the museum’s offerings and ensure the longevity of our historical treasures:
Depot Restoration
$10,000
We aim to restore our Depot and Section House with historically accurate beadboard walls, flooring, paint, and trim, bringing these structures back to their former glory.
Box Car Renovation
$10,000
Your support will help us restore a historic boxcar, ensuring it meets safety compliance and shines with new paint and lettering.
General Expenses
$5,000
These funds will cover ongoing operational costs, including website upkeep and utilities, essential for keeping the museum running smoothly
TRACK EXTENTION
$50,000
Help us extend our track by 1,350 feet to Packard Gulch. While the rails and ties are donated, we need funding for installation and ballast.
EVALUATION & MOVEMENT of ENGINE 71
$50,000
We’re working to move Engine 71 from the Grand Casino to our Depot for evaluation and potential restoration. This would be a major milestone in preserving Colorado’s railroading history.
